ADVAGROMED

ADVAGROMED’s goal is to use collaborative research to develop, evaluate, and promote an innovative agricultural system that is adapted to the unique conditions of the Mediterranean region and leverages the benefits of insect production in conjunction with fundamental agroecological principles. ADVAGROMED applies the principles of the circular economy and zero waste to develop a sustainable and innovative agricultural system in the Mediterranean region by using organic byproducts from local agricultural production to raise insects. This results in various products: insect meal, which can be used as a fertilizer to improve agricultural soils, enhance soil quality and microbial biodiversity, and provide antimicrobial benefits, thereby reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers and pesticides, as well as live larvae for feeding local poultry breeds, which support good animal performance, health, and product quality while also reducing the use of imported feed.
