The EIT Food Seedbed Incubator Program is a six-month support program for European and Israeli deep-tech startups in the agri-food sector. Through this program, 50 early-stage startups each year are given the opportunity to validate their solutions in the market and develop a viable business model.
The program supports startups through training, mentoring, and coaching and is structured around three missions: healthier nutrition, climate-neutral food systems, and risk reduction for a fair, resilient system. As part of Mission 3, the DIL Innovation Hub mentored ten startups from fields such as sensor technology, tracking, sustainable materials, cleaning technologies, and agriculture. Even during the incubation phase, the teams secured around €1 million in investments and launched or agreed to pilot projects with potential customers. Long-term data shows that about 80% of Seedbed graduates are still active six years after the program ends. Since 2019, around 50 startups have raised a total of approximately €20 million in grants and investment funds.
