Federal Government Research Funding

At the federal level, research at the DIL is funded through various programs administered by different federal ministries.

Small and medium-sized enterprises are the focus of these funding programs. Through partnerships with universities and nonprofit organizations, research and development are supported and innovations are developed to assist businesses in Germany.

High-Resolution Analysis of Natural Products, Proteins, and Microplastics Using NMR, Raman, and HPLC-ESI-MS

A second area of focus is the analysis of natural compounds, colorants, alternative protein sources, and microplastics in complex food matrices. We identify and characterize flavonoids, antioxidants, cannabinoids, and proteins, and develop suitable extraction, purification, and stabilization methods for them.

State-of-the-art instruments such as NMR, Raman and IR microscopy, HPLC-ESI-MS, a4F, and TED pyrolysis-GC-MS enable the creation of a detailed database.
