FOSTER

FOSTER is investigating how the European Research Area (ERA) can be further developed to become more inclusive and easier to manage. The focus, which has thus far been heavily oriented toward academia and agriculture, is to be expanded to include a systemic perspective on the drivers and impacts of the transformation. To this end, researchers are working closely with stakeholders from community-based initiatives; co-creation and collaborative learning are central elements. The project pursues three main strands: a knowledge platform that consolidates existing knowledge and develops scenarios; the FOSTER Academy for the exchange of expertise and capacity; and analyses of research and innovation policy mechanisms for transforming food systems. The DIL serves as the overall coordinator of FOSTER and contributes across all work packages.
