Our “Intensive Case Study” initiative was named “University Gem of the Month” for May by the Stifterverband and is now nominated for the “University Gem of the Year 2025” award. This makes it one of twelve outstanding projects nationwide that are driving innovation in higher education. The Intensive Case Study is a practice-oriented module in the master’s program in Food Process and Product Engineering, offered in cooperation between DIL e. V. and TiHo Hannover. The goal of the format is to familiarize students early on and in depth with real-world problems from the field. Practice Meets Science Every vote counts now Voting period Here’s How Voting Works
As part of the Intensive Case Study, students collaborate with companies to address real-world, industry-specific research and development questions in the field of food science. In doing so, they directly apply their theoretical knowledge, work in an interdisciplinary manner, and develop innovative solutions to current challenges facing the industry. This teaching format not only strengthens technical expertise but also fosters teamwork, problem-solving skills, and direct exchange between academia and industry.
The “University Gem of the Year 2025” will be determined by SMS voting. The initiative with the most votes will receive a cash prize of 3,000 euros, which will be used to further develop the teaching format. Support our initiative with your vote!
